Murder Crosses the Pond
Tour guide Emily Ryder ‘s plans to shepherd her charges to an English fete are severely altered when her longtime mentor and head of the village planning commission suffers a fatal fall from a Tudor mansion. The forces aligned against her include the stonewalling of the local police, the machinations of an invasive development corporation, a runaway client and member of the village’s old guard, and the veiled motives of the owner of the Tudor mansion who resides across the ocean close to the site of the fete.
As the story opens, the opposing forces are emerging plus the need to enlist confederates here in her home base while she attempts to play both ends against the middle moving from London, Bath and the sister-village fete in the moors. Which sets up the near-impossible personal quest of righting a great wrong and initial murder while tracking down her runaway client, fulfilling her contractual obligations and dealing with even greater impending mayhem.
