Born in 1953 Ronald Joseph Scala grew up in western
Pennsylvania on “Poe” Drive, hence a lifelong interest in horror
fiction.

While in college a pivotal event transformed him from an avid
reader to an aspiring writer. He came upon an abandoned barn
littered with the remains of…well, you’ll have to wait for the book
to get the details. Anyway, the strange events that occurred on that
day in 1975 inspired Ron to eventually write his first horror novel.
Completed in 2005 he is hoping to have it published soon. Ron’s
short stories have appeared in several on-line publications and
many are included in his short story collection The Long Hour
Before Light.

Ron has studied martial arts for twenty-eight years. He makes ends
meet with a day job as a Medical Physicist. He practices in eastern
Ohio and western Pennsylvania where he lives with his wife and
three children.
