Premade Cover FAQ:
1. What are Premade Book Covers?
Premade book covers are professionally designed, ready-to-buy covers created in advance for specific genres. After purchase, the title and author name are customized for your book. Premades are ideal if you want a fast, affordable, market-ready cover without a full custom design process.
They are very affordable, usually delivered with your details within 48 hours.
2. Are Your Premade Book Covers Exclusive (sold to only one author)?
Yes – each premade cover is sold once to a single author. After purchase, it is removed from the shop to keep your cover unique.
3. What Do I Receive When I Buy a Premade Cover?
You’ll receive a high-resolution front cover file for ebook use plus the final deliverables included in the order (for example, paperback wrap if you bought that option). Files are typically supplied in standard publishing-ready formats (e.g., JPG/PNG for ebook and print-ready PDF where applicable).
4. Can These Premade Covers Be Serialized?
Yes. Almost all covers can be serialized.
We can either take a few of the premades and make them look like the same series (you pick which design sets the theme). Or we can take one cover and make more cover designs to match.
To see how covers can be serialized and branded, check out these examples – https://www.rockingbookcovers.com/different-ways-to-brand-book-covers-for-series/
5. Can You Change the Title, Author Name, and Tagline On a Premade Cover?
Yes. Title, author name, series name (if needed), and tagline can be replaced to match your book. Minor layout adjustments are included to keep typography balanced and readable.
Future updates to the text are also included for free, so if you need a title change, it won’t cost anything.
6. Can I Request Small Design Tweaks to a Premade Cover?
Often, yes – small tweaks like color adjustments, font swaps, or minor element edits are often possible.
If you want a bigger change that alters the concept (new characters, new background, heavy compositing), you should contact me first, and we can discuss the options.
7. Can I Use a Premade for Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, or Other Platforms?
Yes. Premade covers can be used on major self-publishing platforms, including KDP and wide distributors, as long as you’re using the final files as delivered. If you need a specific printer template, you’ll need to provide the exact trim size, page count, and paper type.
8. Do Premade Covers Include Paperback and Hardcover Files?
It depends on if you are ordering it. If you need print files, add them as an add-on when you’re buying a premade.
9. What Trim Sizes Do You Support for Print Covers?
Common trim sizes (like 5×8, 5.25×8, 5.5×8.5, 6×9) are typically supported. For the best result, provide your platform (KDP or IngramSpark), trim size, page count, and paper type so the spine and wrap fit correctly.
10. Are Stock Images Licensed for Commercial Book Cover Use?
Covers are created using commercially licensed assets (such as stock photography and graphics) suitable for book cover use. The license applies to the delivered cover design; it does not transfer raw stock files to the buyer.
11. Who Owns the Premade Cover Rights?
I own the artwork but author gets the exclusive license to use the artwork for publishing and marketing needs.
12. Are Refunds Available?
If you bought a premade and we didn’t finalise the details, and it was never published, then yes. But if the cover was already updated and published, then no.
13. Premade vs Custom Book Cover: Which Should I Choose?
Choose premade if you want speed, a lower budget, and you find a design that fits your genre well. Choose custom if you need a unique concept built around your characters/setting, specific comps, or a tightly branded series look.
14. How Do I Know If a Cover is “Market-Ready” for My Genre?
Market-ready covers match what readers already buy in your subgenre – the tropes, imagery, typography, and tone. Compare your cover to current top sellers in your category and look for consistent signals (e.g., font styles, contrast, composition, and mood).
